Age Limit
Minimum: 18 years | Maximum: 42 years (with category-based relaxations)
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in any discipline.

APPSC Group 2 Exam Pattern
Screening Test
The Screening Test is an objective-type examination consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions, which must be answered within 150 minutes. There is a 0.33 penalty for each incorrect answer. The syllabus for the screening test will be from General Studies and Mental Ability.
Main Examination
The Main Examination is also an objective-type examination conducted in two papers, Paper I and Paper II. Each Paper has 150 multiple-choice questions with a duration of 150 minutes. There will be a 0.33 negative mark for each wrong answer.
- Paper I Syllabus – Social and Cultural History of Andhra Pradesh, Indian Constitution.
- Paper II Syllabus – India and AP Economy, Science and Technology.
Computer Proficiency Test
A CPT practical exam is conducted in a qualifying manner. The total duration of this exam is 60 minutes. The Assessment pattern of this exam is in two parts: Part A and Part B.
- Part A – 20 Objective Type Questions (MCQs)
- Part B – 80 Marks A Computer-Based Assessment Test

How to start group 2 preparation?
Awareness is the most important thing before starting any job preparation. Follow these simple steps to start your Group 2 Preparation.
1. Learn the syllabus first. Get Aware of every topic in the syllabus.
2. Solve (Analyze) Previous Year Question Papers. See how questions are framed on each topic.
3. Start preparation with the State SCERT 6th to 10th books (almost the same as NCERT 6th to 10th), then 11th to 12th NCERT books.
4. For Advanced Level Preparation, refer to Telugu Academy Books and Famous Authors books for each Subject.
5. Always prefer one standard book for one subject and read it multiple times till you make the shortest notes of each topic.

If you are a beginner to preparation and you are doing any job or studying, you have to spare at least 5 hours a day and 12 hours during holidays to complete the syllabus in one year. If you are already in a government job, you need to spend at least 4 hours a day and one mock test per week to review your performance for APPSC Group 2 preparation.
