machinery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Opex subsidy linked to incremental sales (40% in 2nd year, 60% in 5th year).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maximum incentive: \u20b950 crore for large entities, \u20b925 crore for small entities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"india-releases-sustainable-aviation-fuel-saf-feasibility-study\">India releases Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Feasibility Study<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Civil Aviation, in partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and with support from the European Union, has officially released the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Feasibility Study for India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>India aims to blend SAF into aviation fuel: <strong>1% by 2027, 2% by 2028, and 5% by 2030<\/strong> (as per CORSIA mandate).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SAF can cut lifecycle CO\u2082 emissions by up to 80% compared to conventional jet fuel.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>India has large potential with 750 million metric tonnes of biomass and 230 million tonnes of surplus agri-residue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>First milestones:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>COTECNA Inspection India Pvt. Ltd. designated as first SAF certification body.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IOCL Panipat Refinery certified as India\u2019s first SAF producer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a clean substitute for conventional aviation turbine fuel (ATF).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is made from renewable feedstocks such as Agricultural residue (like crop waste), Municipal solid waste, Energy crops, Used cooking oil, Biomass<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SAF is being promoted worldwide under the CORSIA (Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation) framework of ICAO.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"gst-council-decisions-56th-meeting-highlights\">GST Council Decisions \u2013 56th Meeting Highlights<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Effective Date:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>New GST rates (on most goods &amp; services) \u2192 from 22nd September 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For cigarettes, chewing tobacco, zarda, unmanufactured tobacco and beedi \u2192 existing rates will continue for now. Allowed the state to provide reservation in educational institutions (private aided\/unaided, except minority institutions) for SCs, STs, and OBCs. Led to OBC reservation in Central Educational Institutions (like IITs, IIMs, Central Universities).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>2019:<\/strong> 103rd Constitutional Amendment Act (2019) inserted Article 15(6) and Article 16(6) enabling <strong>10% reservation for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)<\/strong> in education and government jobs.
