The reported allegations included improper case listing, favouritism, maladministration and misuse of administrative authority. Justice Sharma has categorically denied the allegations, describing them as false and baseless; no judicial or disciplinary finding establishing the allegations has been reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The controversy also triggered protests by sections of lawyers in Rajasthan. On 31 August 2026, the Supreme Court Collegium recommended Justice Sanjay K. Agrawal of the Chhattisgarh High Court for appointment as Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The episode has renewed debate over the mechanisms available to deal with allegations concerning judges of the higher judiciary. Removal of a Supreme Court judge is governed by Article 124(4), while Article 217(1)(b) applies the removal mechanism to High Court judges. Parliament enacted the Judges (Inquiry) Act, 1968 to regulate the procedure for investigation and proof of misbehaviour or incapacity in removal proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another important precedent is K. Veeraswami v. Union of India (1991). Under this monetary policy framework, the <strong>Reserve Bank of India (RBI)<\/strong> seeks to maintain <strong>Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation at 4%<\/strong>, with a tolerance band of <strong>\u00b12 percentage points<\/strong>, meaning inflation is intended to remain between <strong>2% and 6%<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The move towards inflation targeting followed the recommendations of the <strong>Expert Committee to Revise and Strengthen the Monetary Policy Framework<\/strong>, chaired by <strong>Dr. Urjit R. Patel<\/strong>, which submitted its report in <strong>2014<\/strong>. Subsequently, the <strong>Government of India and the RBI signed the Monetary Policy Framework Agreement on 20 February 2015<\/strong>, establishing inflation as the key nominal anchor of monetary policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The framework received statutory backing in <strong>2016<\/strong>, when the <strong>Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934<\/strong> was amended through the Finance Act, 2016. On <strong>5 August 2016<\/strong>, the Central Government notified the CPI inflation target at <strong>4% with a tolerance band of 2%\u20136%<\/strong>. Under <strong>Section 45ZA<\/strong> of the RBI Act, the Central Government, in consultation with the RBI, determines the inflation target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>Monetary Policy Committee (MPC)<\/strong>, constituted under <strong>Section 45ZB of the RBI Act<\/strong>, determines the policy rate required to achieve the inflation target. The <strong>repo rate<\/strong> is the RBI\u2019s principal policy rate used to influence borrowing costs, aggregate demand and inflation in the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inflation targeting is also associated with the <strong>New Keynesian Phillips Curve (NKPC)<\/strong>, which explains the theoretical relationship between inflation and economic activity. GSLV-F17 successfully placed EOS-05 into the intended Sub-Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (Sub-GTO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">EOS-05 is a state-of-the-art Earth observation spacecraft designed to become India\u2019s first-ever imaging satellite operating from Geosynchronous Orbit (GSO). This capability can enable repeated observation of a broad region from a high-altitude orbit, strengthening India\u2019s Earth-observation capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GSLV-F17 marked the 19th flight of India\u2019s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV).
