Alliance Air launched “Fare Se Fursat” Fixed Airfare Scheme
Union Minister of Civil Aviation Rammohan Naidu launched “Fare Se Fursat” by the government-owned regional airline Alliance Air, aimed at eliminating fluctuating airfares and ensuring affordable, predictable ticket prices for passengers.
Under the scheme, Alliance Air will offer a fixed fare that remains constant irrespective of the booking date even for same-day travel.
The initiative will be implemented on a pilot basis from October 13 to December 31, 2025, across select routes.
PM GatiShakti–Offshore Platform Launched to Strengthen India’s Blue Economy
- Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal launched PM GatiShakti–Offshore, a digital platform for integrated offshore planning and management, during the fourth anniversary of the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.
- PM GatiShakti -Offshore has been developed by the Logistics Division, DPIIT.
- This platform aims to boost India’s Blue Economy by enabling data-driven, whole-of-government planning for offshore projects like wind farms, marine resource exploration, and coastal infrastructure development.
- PM GatiShakti–Offshore integrates critical datasets from multiple ministries including Renewable Energy, Environment, Petroleum & Natural Gas, Ports, Fisheries, and Telecommunications to ensure sustainable, transparent, and efficient use of India’s offshore potential.

NITI Aayog Releases Report on “India’s Blue Economy: Strategy for Harnessing Deep-Sea and Offshore Fisheries”
- NITI Aayog released a landmark report titled “India’s Blue Economy: Strategy for Harnessing Deep-Sea and Offshore Fisheries”, launched by Prof. Ramesh Chand (Member–Agriculture) and Shri B.V.R. Subrahmanyam (CEO, NITI Aayog).
- India, the second-largest fish-producing country in the world with 8% of global production, supports nearly 30 million livelihoods through the fisheries sector and earned ₹60,523 crore in exports in FY 2023–24.
- The report highlights India’s Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of over 2 million sq. km and 11,098 km coastline as major untapped assets for deep-sea fishing and offshore fisheries.

Uttarakhand Eases Marriage Registration Rules under Uniform Civil Code (UCC)
- The Uttarakhand government has approved an important amendment to the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), providing relief to citizens of Nepali, Bhutanese, and Tibetan origin living in the State who do not possess an Aadhaar card.
- As per the amendment, foreign citizens from these neighbouring regions can now register their marriages using alternate documents such as a citizenship certificate, residence certificate, passport, or valid identity card. They can also submit a certificate from the Foreign Registration Officer (FRO) as proof for registration.
- The move aims to ease documentation challenges for residents from Nepal, Bhutan, and Tibet, who share deep historical, cultural, and familial ties with Uttarakhand.
- The UCC ensures equal property and inheritance rights for women, mandates marriage and divorce registration, and includes strict provisions for unregistered live-in relationships.
Nobel Prize in Economics
The 2025 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences was awarded to Joel Mokyr, Philippe Aghion, and Peter Howitt for their groundbreaking research on innovation-driven economic growth.
Joel Mokyr (Northwestern University, U.S.) received the prize for using historical analysis to identify factors behind sustained growth through technological innovation.

Retail Inflation Falls to 8 Year Low of 1.54% in September 2025
India’s retail inflation, measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), fell to an 8-year low of 1.54% in September 2025, mainly due to declining food and fuel prices, according to data from the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. This is the lowest level since June 2017 (1.46%) and remains below the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) lower comfort rate of 2%.
