Malaysia will hold the ASEAN Chairmanship 2025

The Chairmanship of ASEAN shall rotate annually based on the alphabetical order of the English names of Member States. A Member State assuming the Chairmanship shall chair the ASEAN Summit and related summits. Malaysia will hold the ASEAN chairmanship 2025. Malaysia Prime Minister – Anwar Ibrahim.

International Snow Leopard Day – 23 October

India observed International Snow Leopard Day with a unique initiative titled ‘#23for23’ on 23 October 2025, encouraging people across the country to engage in physical activities for 23 minutes to raise awareness. The recently concluded first-ever Snow Leopard Census has recorded 718 individual snow leopards across the Indian Himalayas.

India Re-elected as Vice-Chairperson of COP10 Bureau

India has been re-elected as the Vice-Chairperson of the Bureau for the Asia-Pacific (Group IV) during the 10th Session of the Conference of Parties (COP10) to the International Convention against Doping in Sport, held from 20–22 October 2025 at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris. Azerbaijan was elected as Chairperson of the Conference of Parties (COP 10).

Bombay High Court Forms Committee to Protect Sanjay Gandhi National Park

The Bombay High Court has constituted a high-powered committee headed by former Allahabad High Court Chief Justice Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale to oversee the protection and preservation of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) in Mumbai. The Sanjay Gandhi National Park, spread over 104 square kilometers is home to rich biodiversity.

14th India-Bhutan Border Management and Security meeting

India and Bhutan held the 14th Border Management and Security Meeting in Thimphu from October 16–17, 2025, to review and strengthen cooperation on border management and security-related issues. India shares a 699-km border with Bhutan, spanning Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh. The last such meeting was held in 2019.

Andhra Pradesh to Launch Divisional-Level Development Offices from November 1

Andhra Pradesh government announced that Divisional-Level Development Offices (DLDOs) will be established across Andhra Pradesh from November 1, 2025.
