Prime Minister Visit to Andhra Pradesh

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone, inaugurated, and dedicated to the nation multiple development projects worth approximately ₹13,430 crore in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.

India – Brazil Joint Declaration

India and Brazil signed a Joint Declaration in New Delhi to deepen the MERCOSUR–India Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA), reaffirming their commitment to strengthen bilateral trade and economic cooperation. Both countries agreed that the expansion of the trade agreement should be substantial, covering both tariff and non-tariff issues, and should involve the active participation of the private sector. 

Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR)

  • The Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) is a South American trade bloc established by the Treaty of Asunción in 1991 and Protocol of Ouro Preto in 1994.
  • Member countries are Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
  • India signed a Preferential Trade Agreement with MERCOSUR 17 June 2023.

PM Internship Scheme 2025

  • The Government of India’s PM Internship Scheme (PMIS) aims to place youth (21–24 years) in top 500 companies for 12 months of industry exposure. 
  • The pilot targets 1.25 lakh internships in Financial Year  2024–25 across 24 sectors. 
  • Eligible candidates (ITI/Diploma/Degree) receive a ₹5,000 monthly stipend (₹4,500 via DBT + ₹500 from company CSR) and a one-time ₹6,000 grant, with insurance cover under PMJJBY and PMSBY.
  • The PM Internship Scheme (PMIS) was launched on 2 December, 2024.

Scheme for Innovation and Technology with Aadhar (SITAA)

  • The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launched the Scheme for Innovation and Technology with Aadhaar (SITAA) to promote innovation, indigenization, and co-development of advanced technologies in India’s digital identity ecosystem.
  • Through SITAA scheme, UIDAI aims to collaborate with startups, academia, and industry to develop AI-powered biometric security solutions, including real-time deepfake detection, contactless fingerprint authentication, and mobile-friendly face recognition.
  • To support the initiative, MeitY Startup Hub (MSH) and NASSCOM have signed MoUs with UIDAI as strategic partners.

State Mining Readiness Index (SMRI)

The Ministry of Mines released the State Mining Readiness Index (SMRI) and State Rankings, marking an important initiative to promote mining sector reforms across India.

The index assesses States based on key indicators such as auction performance, early mine operationalization, exploration efforts, and sustainable mining practices. States were categorized into three groups based on their mineral endowment:

  • Category A (Highly mineral-rich States): Top performers – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat
  • Category B (Moderately endowed States): Top performers – Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Assam
  • Category C (Low mineral endowment States): Top performers – Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Tripura

India elected as the Co-Chair of the Regional Committee of the UN GGIM-AP

India has been elected as the Co-Chair of the Regional Committee of the United Nations Global Geospatial Information Management for Asia and the Pacific (UN-GGIM-AP) for the 2025–2028 term. India was represented by Shri Hitesh Kumar S. Makwana, IAS, the Surveyor General of India, during the elections held at the 14th Plenary Meeting of UN-GGIM-AP in Goyang-si, Republic of Korea, from 24–26 September 2025.

  • The 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 concluded with a grand ceremony at the Himalayan Cultural Centre, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. 
  • 8th Rashtriya Poshan Maah was launched on17th September 2025 from Dhar, Madhya Pradesh.
  • This Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2025 theme is “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar”

5th Edition of Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025

  • The fifth edition of the Khelo India University Games (KIUG) 2025 will be hosted across seven cities of Rajasthan — Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, and Bharatpur — from November 24 to December 5, 2025.
  • The event will feature 23 medal sports and one demonstration sport (Kho-Kho).
  • For the first time, Beach Volleyball, Canoeing & Kayaking, and Cycling will be introduced in KIUG 2025. 
  • The previous edition of the University Games was held in North-East India, where Chandigarh University emerged as the overall champion, followed by Lovely Professional University and Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
