Prime Minister Inaugurates ₹1,219 Crore Development Projects in Kevadia on Sardar Patel’s 150th Jayanti

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹1,219 crore in Kevadia, Gujarat, on the eve of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th Jayanti. Also, a commemorative coin and postage stamp in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the “Iron Man of India.”

The Department of Consumer Affairs under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution has notified major amendments to the Legal Metrology (Government Approved Test Centre) Rules, 2013. The amendments expand the scope of Government Approved Test Centres (GATCs) to 18 categories of instruments such as water meters, energy meters, gas meters, moisture meters, flow meters, sphygmomanometers, and non-automatic weighing instruments.

  • The Ministry of Education has announced that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computational Thinking (CT) will be introduced in all schools from Class 3 onwards, starting in the academic session 2026–27.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that Nauradehi Sanctuary will soon become the third home for cheetahs in the state, following Kuno National Park and Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary. Cheetahs will be brought from Namibia, Africa, and released into the sanctuary as part of India’s ongoing efforts to expand the Cheetah Reintroduction Project and strengthen wildlife conservation.
