MoU between CCRAS and PVNRTVU
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) and P V Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University (PVNRTVU). The agreement aims to promote collaborative research and academic activities in the field of veterinary sciences.
World-class Greenfield Shipyard in Tamilnadu
Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Government of Tamil Nadu to construct a world-class greenfield shipyard on India’s eastern coast.
INS Androth – Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft
The Indian Navy is going to introduce Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft Androth in Visakhapatnam 06 October 2025. This is the second of the sixteen ASW-SWC ships.
INS Androth was built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd.
Androth is the name of an Island in Lakshadweep archipelago.
Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Crafts (ASW SWCs) detect, track, and destroy hostile submarines in coastal areas, while also conducting Low-Intensity Maritime Operations (LIMO), providing maritime security, and carrying out Search and Rescue missions.
NCMRWF Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NSIL
The National Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF) under the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Space India Limited (NSIL) recently. This agreement aims to establish two Direct Broadcast Network (DBNet) stations, one in Delhi and the other in Chennai. This agreement is a part of the Mission Mausam project of the Ministry of Earth Sciences.

The fourth edition of World Food India (WFI) 2025 will be held from 25th to 28th September 2025 in Delhi.

Visakhapatnam Declaration on e-Governance (2025)
The 28th National Conference on e-Governance (NCeG) was held in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, co-hosted by DARPG, MeitY, and the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The conference concluded with the adoption of the “Visakhapatnam Declaration” on September 23, 2025.
Theme: “Viksit Bharat: Civil Service and Digital Transformation” aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Graphitic Carbon Nitride (g-C₃N₄)
Indian scientists have pioneered a nanomaterial called graphitic carbon nitride (g-C₃N₄) that can stimulate brain cells without surgery, electrodes, lasers, or magnets.
The research was led by scientists at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) Mohali.
Key Findings:
- g-C₃N₄ helps neurons grow, mature, and communicate more effectively.
- Boosted dopamine production in lab-grown brain-like cells.
- Reduced toxic proteins linked to Parkinson’s disease in animal models.
Cochin Ship Yard signed an MoU with HD Korea Shipbuilding company
Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) for a long-term strategic collaboration in shipbuilding.
A Block Fabrication Facility (BFF) is planned at Kochi.

- Satellite internet refers to the internet service provided through satellites placed in Geostationary Orbits (GSO) or Non-Geostationary Orbits (NGSO).
- India has 1,002.85 million internet subscribers as of April–June 2025.
- Rural internet penetration stands at approximately 46 subscribers per 100 population, highlighting the need for satellite internet to bridge the digital divide.
- Space sector reforms have enabled private sector participation in space activities.
- India is moving towards LEO and MEO-based satellite internet services to deliver faster and more reliable broadband services nationwide.
- Over 10 satellite operators, including the licensed Starlink, have entered India, with the private sector allowed up to 100% FDI.
NITI Aayog Report – Pathways to Progress: Analysis and Insights into India’s Innovation Story
NITI Aayog released a landmark report titled “Pathways to Progress: Analysis and Insights into India’s Innovation Story” on 23 September 2025.
The report highlights India’s science, technology, and innovation journey, showcasing achievements, challenges, and future opportunities.

- Dr. Deepak Bagla, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) – stressed AIM’s role in nurturing startups and innovation.

World Bank funding Tamil Nadu to Restore Mangrove Forest
The Tamil Nadu Coastal Restoration Mission (TN-SHORE) was approved in September 2025 with a total outlay of ₹1,675 crore.
Funding:
- Around ₹1,000 crore from the World Bank.
- Remaining from the Tamil Nadu State Government.
- Objective: Strengthen Tamil Nadu’s coastal resilience and economy.
Key Targets:
- Restore 30,000 hectares of seascapes.
- Protect endangered species like turtles and dugongs.
- Promote eco-tourism and plastic waste management.
Mangrove Restoration:
- 1,000 hectares to be restored (300 ha new plantations + 700 ha degraded areas).
- Funds will flow directly to village mangrove councils, which will manage and implement restoration.
- Each council is headed by a community member (president), with the Forest Range Officer as member-secretary.
- Initial ₹38 crore corpus allocated for mangrove works.

Tri-Services Cold Start Counter-Drone Exercise
Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force to hold a joint exercise called “Cold Start” in the first week of October. This exercise takes place in Madhya Pradesh. The objective of this exercise is to test drones and counter-drone systems.

Bihar – Mukhyamantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer ₹7,500 crore as the first instalment to 75 lakh women in Bihar under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Rozgar Yojana through DBT.
Each beneficiary will receive ₹10,000 to help them start small businesses of their choice.
Eligibility:
- Women aged 18–60 years.
- From nuclear families, not income tax payees.
- Priority for economically weaker sections.
- Members of Jeevika SHGs and unmarried adult women without parents are also eligible.
- After 6 months’ performance review, an additional grant of ₹2 lakh will be provided to successful women entrepreneurs.
India’s Fusion Power Roadmap
The Institute for Plasma Research (IPR), Gandhinagar has proposed a roadmap for India’s fusion power programme.
India plans to build its first fusion electricity generator, the Steady-state Superconducting Tokamak-Bharat (SST-Bharat). It will be a fusion–fission hybrid reactor. Target output is 5x input power, with 100 MW from fission of the total 130 MW. The estimated cost of this project is ₹25,000 crore.
India is already a partner in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project in France, which aims for a Q of 10.

- UK’s STEP programme targets a prototype by 2040.
- USA private firms claim grid-ready fusion by the 2030s.
- China’s EAST tokamak has already set plasma duration records.

Andhra Pradesh SC Sub-classification Bill (2025)
The Andhra Pradesh Assembly has passed a Bill on Scheduled Caste (SC) Sub-classification to ensure fairer distribution of reservation benefits in education and public employment.

- The move follows the 2024 Supreme Court judgment that upheld the constitutionality of SC sub-classification.
- A one-man commission headed by retired IAS officer Rajiv Ranjan Mishra was appointed to recommend the sub-classification.

- Group I – Most Backward (12 castes): 6.5% reservation
- Group II – Backward (18 castes): 7.5% reservation

- The Bill replaces the Andhra Pradesh SC (Sub-classification) Ordinance, 2025 and formalises these provisions.
Andhra Pradesh Attracts ₹4.47 Lakh Crore Investments in 2024-25
According to a study by the MSME Export Promotion Council, Andhra Pradesh attracted investment projects worth ₹4.47 lakh crore during 2024-25.
