Oath of Office of Vice President of India

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu administered the Oath of Office of Vice President of India to Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan at a Swearing-in-Ceremony held at Ganatantra Mandap, Rashtrapati Bhavan

Article 69: Oath or affirmation by the Vice-President

Every Vice-President shall, before entering upon his office, make and subscribe before the President, or some person appointed in that behalf by him, an oath or affirmation in the following form, that is to say “I, A.B., do swear in the name of God/solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith, and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established and that I will faithfully discharge the duty upon which I am about to enter.”

National Conference of the Committee on Empowerment of Women of Parliament and State

Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla will inaugurate the National Conference of the Committee on Empowerment of Women of Parliament and State/UT Legislatures at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. The theme of the Conference is “Empowering Women to Face Challenges of Emerging Technologies.” “Women Led Development for Viksit Bharat” and two sub themes namely (i) ‘Gender Responsive Budgeting’ and (ii) ‘Empowering Women to Face Challenges of Emerging Technologies’ have also been included in the agenda.

APEDA’s first Regional Office in Patna

APEDA’s first Regional Office in Patna inaugurated by Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal at the Bihar Idea Festival. 7-metric-ton GI-tagged Mithila Makhana consignment flagged off to New Zealand, Canada, and the USA. GI agricultural products of Bihar are Bhagalpuri Zardalu, Katarni Rice, Marcha Rice, Magahi Paan, Shahi Litchi, Mithila Makhana. This is the 17th Regional office of APEDA.

4th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS)

India participated in the 4th Coast Guard Global Summit (CGGS) held in Rome, Italy (11–12 Sep 2025); a two-member delegation was led by DG ICG Paramesh Sivamani. India secured the Presidency of the 5th CGGS to be hosted in India in 2027.

Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) inked an MoU with Punjab National Bank (PNB) to reinforce PNB’s IT infrastructure and accelerate its tech transformation.

Icelandic Fishing Expo 2025

A high-level Indian delegation from Department of Fisheries visited Reykjavik city in Iceland to deepen cooperation in sustainable blue growth. The Iceland Ocean Cluster (IOC) is an innovation and business network based in Reykjavik in Iceland dedicated to fostering sustainable growth in the marine and ocean industries.

So far, 34 Ocean clusters have been notified across various States and Union Territories. Bhimavaram is the only cluster (Brackish Water Aquaculture Cluster) in Andhra Pradesh.

Government announced Annual licensing policy for cultivation of opium poppy

The Union Government today announced the annual licensing policy for crop year 2025-26 during the Opium Crop Year from 1st October, 2025 to 30th September, 2026 of license for cultivation of opium poppy, for the farmers in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Nearly 1.21 lakh farmers are estimated to be eligible for the grant of licenses for opium cultivation in these states. Cultivation of Opium Crop is strictly for medicinal and pharmaceutical use in India.

4th edition of World Food India 2025

4th edition of the World Food India will be held from 25–28 Sept 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. New Zealand and Saudi Arabia are the partner countries and Japan, UAE, Vietnam, Russia are the focus countries. 3rd Global Food Regulators Summit (FSSAI) and 24th India International Seafood Show (SEAI) are the two events along side this main event.

Jagdeep S. Chhokar (81), co-founder of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), passed away in New Delhi. A former IIM Ahmedabad professor (1985–2006), he was known for championing electoral transparency.

The UN General Assembly endorsed the New York Declaration on a two-state solution passing a resolution 142–10–12. India voted in favour of the resolution. The declaration was held in July at the UN headquarters and co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia.
