Regulation of Bio-stimulant Products under Fertilizer Control Order (FCO), 1985
Bio-Stimulant products were added to the FCO,1985 in 2021 in order to regulate quality. The registration of Bio-Stimulant products under FCO 1985 made till 17 June 2025. Earlier, around 30,000 products were in the market before regulation. As of now, only 146 bio-stimulant products are officially included in Schedule VI of FCO, 1985.
Definition of Bio-stimulant = a substance/micro-organism (or both) that stimulates physiological processes in plants, enhancing nutrient uptake, growth, yield, stress tolerance, and crop quality. Few examples of Bio-Stimulant categories: Botanical extracts (seaweed), Bio-chemicals, Protein hydrolysates, Vitamins, Antioxidants, Humic & fulvic acids, Anti-transpirants, Cell-free microbial products, and certain live micro-organisms.
IEPFA Celebrates 9th Foundation Day
The Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPFA) under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs celebrated its 9th Foundation Day. The IEPFA was established on September 7, 2016. IEPFA is responsible for managing the Investor Education and Protection Fund, which focuses on safeguarding investor interests by facilitating the refund of shares, unclaimed dividends, and matured deposits/debentures. Through its initiatives, the IEPFA aims to ensure transparency, protect investors’ rights, and promote financial literacy across the country.

ZAPAD Exercise 2025
An Indian Armed Forces contingent comprising 65 personnel participating in the multilateral joint military exercise ZAPAD 2025 at Mulino Training Ground, Nizhniy, Russia. This exercise is to be conducted from 10 to 16 September 2025.
About ZAPAD Exercise: It is a multilateral Russian-Belarusian joint strategic military exercise conducted once in every four years. Participating countries are Belarus, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Congo, Mali, India, Iran, Niger and Tajikistan.
Launch of 11th ACTCM Barge LSAM 25
The 11th Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile (ACTCM) Barge, LSAM 25 (Yard 135), was launched on 08 September 2025 at M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt. Ltd., Thane. The barges are indigenously designed with collaboration from an Indian Ship Design firm and the Indian Register of Shipping (IRS). An ACTCM Barge is a floating ammunition carrier ship for the Indian Navy, used to transport and deliver ammunition, torpedoes, and missiles safely from shore to warships, boosting the Navy’s operational capabilities.

Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan Awards & Wetland Cities Recognition Ceremony 2025 were presented by Union Environment Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav.
- Best NCAP Cities (Category-1, population >10 lakh): Indore, Jabalpur got 1st and 2nd place while Agra and Surat stood at 3rd place.
- Category-2 (population 3–10 lakh): Amravati ranked 1st, Jhansi & Moradabad 2nd, Alwar 3rd.

- Wetland City Accreditation under Ramsar Convention: Indore and Udaipur recognized under Ramasar convention.

The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has introduced two key initiatives to strengthen social security and simplify compliance for industries. Fossil Leaves from Nagaland Link Antarctic Ice Formation to Indian Monsoons
Scientists from the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences (Lucknow) and Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology (Dehradun) have discovered 34-million-year-old fossil leaves from the Laisong Formation in Nagaland. The study shows that the formation of massive ice sheets in Antarctica around the same period shifted the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and triggered intense monsoonal rains in Northeast India.

Rajasthan Assembly passes Anti-Conversion Bill
The Rajasthan Assembly has passed the Rajasthan Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Bill, 2025, introducing stringent measures against religious conversions by force, fraud, allurement, or coercion. The law prescribes punishments up to life imprisonment and fines of up to ₹1 crore. Properties used for mass conversions can be confiscated or demolished, and such marriages made solely for conversion will be declared void. Returning to one’s ancestral religion has been exempted. Rajasthan thus joins other States like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh with similar laws.
Protests in Indonesia
Indonesia has been witnessing massive protests since August 25, 2025, initially against the housing allowances of Parliament members, which were nearly 10 times higher than the national average minimum wage. The protests escalated after a 21-year-old delivery worker, Affan Kurniawan, was killed by a police vehicle on August 28.
