AYUSH Ministry Launched “DRAVYA” Portal

  • The Ministry of AYUSH launched the DRAVYA (Digitised Retrieval Application for Versatile Yardstick of Ayush) portal, developed by the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS).
  • In its first phase, the portal will catalogue 100 key medicinal substances, integrating classical Ayurvedic texts with modern research data.
  • The portal will provide detailed information on each substance, including botany, chemistry, pharmacology, and safety.

Trinetra – Static Firing Facility

The Indian Navy commissioned a state-of-the-art Static Firing Facility named ‘Trinetra’ at Naval Station Bheemunipatnam, near Visakhapatnam.

India Launches National Red List Roadmap at IUCN World Conservation Congress

  • The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) launched India’s National Red List Roadmap at the IUCN World Conservation Congress held in Abu Dhabi, led by Union Minister of State Shri Kirti Vardhan Singh.
  • This initiative marks the beginning of the National Red List Assessment (NRLA) , a nationally coordinated red-listing system for assessing, conserving, and monitoring the conservation status of India’s flora and fauna.
  • Prepared by the Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) and the Botanical Survey of India (BSI) in collaboration with IUCN-India, the roadmap aims to publish National Red Data Books for both flora and fauna by 2030.
  • India, one of the 17 megadiverse countries of the world, is home to four biodiversity hotspots — the Himalayas, Western Ghats, Indo-Burma, and Sundaland — and harbours nearly 8% of the world’s flora and 7.5% of its fauna.

Andhra Pradesh Panchayati Raj Institutions Received ₹410 Crore as First Instalment of XV Finance Commission United Grants

The Union Government has released the first instalment of the Fifteenth Finance Commission (XV FC) United Grants for the financial year 2025–26, amounting to ₹410.76 crore, to Rural Local Bodies (PRIs) in Andhra Pradesh.

The funds will benefit:

  • 13 District Panchayats (Zilla Praja Parishads)
  • 650 Block Panchayats (Mandal Praja Parishads)
  • 13,092 Gram Panchayats out of 13,327 in the State.

These United Grants will be utilised for location-specific rural development activities under the 29 subjects of the Eleventh Schedule of the Constitution, excluding salaries and establishment costs.

The Tied Grants will be used for essential services such as sanitation, waste management, and drinking water supply — including rainwater harvesting and recycling.

Supreme Court Allows Judicial Officers with 7 Years’ Bar Experience to Become District Judges

  • The Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, held that judicial officers who had at least seven years of experience as practising advocates before joining judicial service are eligible to be appointed as District or Additional District Judges.
  • Previously, only practising advocates with seven years of experience were eligible for direct recruitment as District Judges.
  • Under Article 233(2) of the Constitution a person with combined experience of seven years as an advocate or judicial officer can be considered for appointment as a District Judge.
  • The Bench also fixed the minimum age for eligibility for both advocates and judicial officers at 35 years as on the date of application.
