Prime Minister visit to Maharashtra

Prime Minister Modi visited Mumbai on 08 October 2025 and inaugurated various projects.

Navi Mumbai International Airport was launched

Mumbai’s first fully underground metro stretching Line 3 (Aqua Line) was inaugurated,

Mumbai One – Integrated Common Mobility App was launched. This enables citizens to use a single digital ticket for metro, monorail, suburban trains, and buses. This initiative promotes One Nation, One Mobility.

India’s Largest Greenfield Airport inaugurated

The Prime Minister recently inaugurated Navi Mumbai International Airport. The Navi Mumbai International Airport, developed under a Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model at a cost of around ₹19,650 crore, is India’s largest Greenfield airport project. The airport, designed in the shape of a lotus flower, symbolizes India’s cultural heritage and prosperity. Once fully operational, it will handle 90 million passengers annually and 3.25 million metric tonnes of cargo, establishing Mumbai as one of Asia’s top aviation hubs.

India Mobile Congress 2025

The Prime Minister of India inaugurated the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi.

This event was jointly organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI).

India Mobile Congress 2025 theme “Innovate to Transform.”

Highlights:

• India now has 5G coverage in nearly every district.
• Electronics production has increased sixfold since 2014.
• Mobile manufacturing has grown 28 times, and exports have surged 127 times.
• India has launched its indigenous 4G stack, joining the five countries in the world with this advanced capability.
• Nearly 1 lakh 4G towers were activated simultaneously, connecting 2 crore new users, including those in remote regions.
• India now ranks as the world’s second-largest telecom market and second-largest 5G market.
• Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced that India’s space economy is projected to grow from $8.4 billion (2022) to $44 billion by 2033,
• This growth is powered by IN-SPACe and New Space India Limited (NSIL).
• Over 300 space startups have emerged in five years, making India the world’s fifth-largest space startup ecosystem.
• India aims to launch 100 satellites in the coming 15 years.
• India aims to establish the Bharatiya Antariksh Station by 2035, and land an Indian astronaut on the Moon by 2040.

9 New Commodities Added to e-NAM Platform

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, has expanded the National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) by adding 9 new agricultural commodities, increasing the total number of tradable commodities to 247.

The 9 Newly Added Commodities:

1. Green Tea
2. Tea
3. Aswagandha Dry Roots
4. Mustard Oil
5. Lavender Oil
6. Mentha Oil
7. Virgin Olive Oil
8. Lavender Dried Flower
9. Broken Rice

e-NAM Platform

The National Agriculture Market (e-NAM) Platform was launched on 14 April 2016. The implementing Agency of e-NAM platform is Small Farmers Agribusiness Consortium (SFAC). Read More about e-NAM Platform

World Habitat Day 2025

• The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) observed World Habitat Day 2025. This year World Habitat Day is observed on 06 October 2025.
• World Habitat Day 2025 theme: Urban Crisis Response.
• World Habitat Day is marked on the first Monday of October each year and is recognized by the United Nations.

MoU Signed Between Ministry of Minority Affairs and IIT Palakkad for Skilling Project under PM VIKAS Scheme

The Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Palakkad, Kerala for implementing a skilling project under the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme.

The project aims to empower individuals from minority communities by providing future-ready technical skills in emerging domains. Under this collaboration, 400 candidates will be trained —

• 150 as Junior Chip Designers,
• 150 as Embedded Software Engineers, and
• 100 as Junior Engineers (Drone R&D).

The entire training cost will be covered by the Ministry of Minority Affairs.

NITI Aayog Launches Roadmap on AI for Inclusive Societal Development

NITI Aayog unveiled a landmark study titled “AI for Inclusive Societal Development”, developed in collaboration with Deloitte, to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) and frontier technologies can transform the lives of India’s 490 million informal workers.

Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2025

The 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded jointly to Richard Robson (Australia), Susumu Kitagawa (Japan), and Omar Yaghi (Jordanian-American) for the discovery and creation of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) — a revolutionary class of materials that bridge metallic and organic compounds.

MOFs are porous, flexible structures that can absorb, filter, and store gases, with applications ranging from carbon capture and water harvesting to removal of toxic chemicals like PFAS from the environment.

PM KUSUM Solar Pump Scheme in Africa and Island Nations

The Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), led by Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, announced plans to showcase India’s PM-KUSUM and PM Surya Ghar (rooftop solar) programmes in African and island nations through the International Solar Alliance (ISA) platform.

The ₹34,000-crore PM-KUSUM scheme, launched in 2019, aims to strengthen solar energy infrastructure in agriculture by setting up 100 GW of solar power plants on farmer-owned land. While the scheme initially targeted 308 GW by 2022, the goal has now been revised to 348 GW by March 2026.

SIPB Approval ₹87,520-Crore AI Data Centre by Raiden (Google Subsidiary) in Visakhapatnam

The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has approved a proposal by Raiden Infotech India Limited, a subsidiary of Google, to establish an AI-powered data centre in Visakhapatnam with an investment of ₹87,520 crore.

The total investment approved in 11 SIPB meetings is ₹7.07 lakh crore.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh also announced the division of Andhra Pradesh into three industrial zones —

• Visakhapatnam Economic Region (East Godavari to Srikakulam)
• Central Economic Growth Region (Amaravati hub)
• Southern Economic Development Region (Nellore and Rayalaseema)
