Operation Sankalp
India is closely monitoring the evolving security situation in West Asia following the recent escalation of regional tensions. In response, the Indian Navy has placed its deployed warships on standby for possible Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations.
Currently, two Indian Navy ships a frigate and a destroyer are deployed in the Gulf of Aden and the Gulf of Oman under Operation Sankalp. These ships have primarily been conducting anti-piracy operations and ensuring the safety of merchant vessels in the region since 2019.
