PM Inaugurates ₹17,900-Crore Development Projects in Bhogapuram

Ajit Doval Receives Lokmanya Tilak National Award 2026

Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the Lokmanya Tilak National Award 2026 to National Security Adviser Ajit Doval in Pune, Maharashtra, on August 1, 2026. Doval was honoured for his contribution to strengthening India’s national security, counter-terrorism capabilities, strategic intelligence, and border security.

The award ceremony was held on the 106th death anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, and other dignitaries attended the event.

The Lokmanya Tilak National Award was instituted by the Tilak Smarak Mandir Trust in 1983. It is presented annually on August 1 to individuals who have made remarkable contributions to India’s progress and development. The award includes a memento, citation, and a cash prize of ₹1 lakh.

Ajit Doval, a former Director of the Intelligence Bureau, was appointed National Security Adviser in 2014. The Prime Minister’s Office continues to list him as India’s NSA, and he is recognised as the country’s longest-serving National Security Adviser.
