Application Process & Fees

Applications will be online. Fees: Application Processing Fee Rs. 600/- (For Local OC, BC, and EWS Candidates) and Examination Fee Rs. 300/- (For Local SCs, and STs). The Application Fee will be Rs. 600/- for all Non-Local Candidates.

AP Police SI Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

Minimum: 21 years | Maximum: 27 years (Up to a maximum of five years’ age relaxation for EWS, BC, SC, and ST)

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university in any discipline.

Reservation & Relaxation Rules

Applicable as per government notification.

AP Police SI Exam Syllabus and Pattern

Prelims Written Test

The Preliminary Written Test consists of two Papers for 100 marks each. Paper I Arithmetic (SSC Standard) and Test of Reasoning/Mental Ability. Paper II General Studies (Degree Standard). There will be no negative marks for incorrect answers.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT)

The Physical Measurement Test (PMT) will be conducted for Candidates who have cleared the Prelims Exam.

  • For Men: (i) Height must be greater than 167.6 cm, (ii) Chest must be greater than 86.7cm with expansion of 5cm.
  • For Women: (i) Height must be greater than 152.5 cm, (ii) Weight must be greater than 40kg.

For Scheduled Tribes

  • For Men: (i) Height must be greater than 160 cm, (ii) Chest must be greater than 80cm with expansion of 3cm.
  • For Women: (i) Height must be greater than 150 cm, (ii) Weight must be greater than 38kg.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Candidate who qualifies in the above Physical Measurement Tests will be required to undergo the following tests and be qualified as specified below:
i) Post Code No. 11:
Men & Women Candidates must qualify in:

  1. 1600 Meters run (1 Mile Run) and
  2. One out of the remaining two events of the 100-meter run or long jump

ii) Post Code No. 13: Candidates must qualify in all three events of the Physical Efficiency

Main Examination

The Main Examination is conducted in four papers. Paper I and Paper II are descriptive types, and Paper III and Paper IV are objective types.

  • Paper I (Descriptive) – English (Degree Standard)
  • Paper II (Descriptive) – Telugu or Urdu (Degree Standard)
  • Paper III (200 MCQs) – Arithmetic (SSC Standard) and Test of Reasoning and Mental Ability
  • Paper IV (200 MCQs) – General Studies (Degree Standard)
