Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Educational Qualification: Must have Passed Intermediate exam (12th pass)
  • Age Limit: 18–30 years (relaxation for reserved categories)
  • Physical Standards: Minimum height 163 cm (if reserved quota cannot be fully utilized for want of sufficient number of candidates there will be a 5cm relaxation to Scheduled Tribes), chest measurements, and walking test requirements
  • Chest Measurements: Minimum 84 cm round the chest on full inspiration and has a chest expansion of not less than 5 cm on full inspiration (if reserved quota cannot be fully utilized for want of sufficient number of candidates there will be a 5cm relaxation to Scheduled Tribes)

Forest Beat Officer Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2025

Exam Pattern:

  • Objective-type written exam
    • Screening Test: This test conducted for 150 Marks in a duration of 150 minutes. 1/3rd Negative marking is there for every wrong answer. This exam will be divided in to two parts Part A: General Studies & Mental Ability and Part B: General Science & Mathematics.
      • General Studies & Mental Ability: 75 Questions carries 75 Marks.
      • General Science and General Mathematics (SSC Standard): 75 Questions carries 75 Marks.
    • Main Exam: This test conducted in three Papers. First Paper is in qualifying nature and descriptive type of exam and the other two papers will be conducted in objective type. 1/3rd Negative marking is there for every wrong answer applicable.
      • Qualifying Test: Writing an essay in English or Telugu or Urdu (Descriptive Type). In this test you have to write any one essay in language that you are comfortable in 45 minutes. This question carries 50 Marks.
      • General Studies & Mental Ability: 100 Questions carries 100 Marks.
      • General Science and General Mathematics (SSC Standard): 100 Questions carries 100 Marks.
  • Physical endurance test (walking test): There will be a walking test for all candidates to test the Endurance. This walking test will not carry any marks. In case of Male candidates, a distance of 25 Kms walking is to be completed in 4 hours duration. In case of Women candidates, a distance of 16 Kms is to be completed in 4 hours duration.
  • Medical Examination
  • Computer Proficiency Test: A qualifyin nature test will be conducted for 100 Marks in 60 Minutes. The Minimum Qualifying marks for SC/ST, BC and OC are 30, 35 and 40 respectively.

  1. General Studies & Mental Ability – General Science, Current Affairs, History of India, Geography of India, Indian Polity and Economy, Mental Ability and Reasoning, Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection and Disaster Management.

    • General Science: Source of Energy: Renewable & Non-Renewable, Living World, Transportation & Excretion, Reproduction: growth, heredity and evolution, Environment and Environmental Problems, Ethnobotany , The Universe – Solar system and exploring space, Brief history of space explorations,
    • General Mathematics: Arithmetics, Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Mensuration, Statistics
