Assam Assembly Introduces Hindi as an Official Language

The Assam Legislative Assembly has decided to introduce Hindi as an official language of the House from the Budget Session beginning on 6 July 2026. The General Purpose Committee of the Assembly made the decision. With this move, proceedings in the Assembly can now be conducted in Assamese, English, Bodo, and Hindi.

ISRO Successfully Tests SOLVE Platform for Gaganyaan Mission

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully conducted the first ground test of the Sub-Orbital Launch Vehicle for Experiments (SOLVE) at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. The SOLVE platform is being developed to validate the crew module’s parachute-based deceleration system for India’s Gaganyaan Human Spaceflight Mission.

White Revolution 2.0

The Government of India is implementing White Revolution 2.0, a cooperative-led initiative under the Ministry of Cooperation, to modernise the dairy sector, increase milk procurement, generate rural employment, and empower women dairy farmers. Officially launched on 19 September 2024, the programme builds upon the success of the historic Operation Flood (White Revolution) launched in 1970.

Highlights

• The initiative aims to increase the daily milk procurement of dairy cooperatives from 660 lakh kg/day to 1,007 lakh kg/day by 2028–29.
• The programme aims to establish 75,000 new Dairy Cooperative Societies (DCSs) in unconnected village panchayats.
• Around 46,422 existing Dairy Cooperative Societies will be upgraded with modern infrastructure and equipment.
• Modern technologies such as Automatic Milk Collection Units (AMCUs), Bulk Milk Coolers (BMCs), Artificial Insemination (AI), In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), and sex-sorted semen will be used to improve productivity and milk quality.
• The programme also promotes organic fertilizers, biogas production, and scientific cattle waste management under a circular economy approach.
• The operational implementation is supported under the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD) 2.0.
