New Chief Minister of Manipur Yumnam Khemchand Singh
President’s Rule imposed due to prolonged ethnic violence between Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities. After Yumnam Khemchand Singh sworn in as Chief Minister of Manipur this one year Presidential rule came to an end.
Divisional Status for Pir Panjal Range
Recently, some parties demanded a seperate divisional status for the Pir Panjal Region. This Pir Panjal Range region is a mountainous region between Jammu and Kashmir Valley, mainly includes Rajouri and Poonch districts. culturally and geographically different from plains of Jammu. This region is often said to be less developed compared to other districts.
What is “Divisional Status”?
A group of districts managed independently by creating a separate administrative division. Such kind of division usually headed by a Divisional Commissioner. This helps better administration and development.

First-ever mummified cheetah remains discovered in Saudi caves
Recently, Scientists have discovered seven naturally mummified cheetahs and skeletal remains of 54 cheetahs inside caves in Saudi Arabia. The remains belonged to Asiatic Cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus venaticus) and North-West African cheetah (Acinonyx jubatus hecki). With these findings, Sau Arabia aims to restore wildlife under biodiversity conservation policies.

Anthropic is a U.S.-based artificial intelligence startup focused on building larger, safer, and more interpretable AI systems. It was founded in 2021. The startup emphasises AI safety and alignment, striving to make AI systems that are steerable, transparent, and reliable.
AI4AP Police Project Launched in Andhra Pradesh
The Director-General of Police launched the AI4AP Police project at the Andhra Pradesh Police Headquarters to modernize policing through Artificial Intelligence. AI4AP Police is an AI-powered smart policing initiative that integrates eight advanced AI tools into a unified digital ecosystem. The project will initially be implemented in three districts Guntur, Annamaiah, and Chittoor districts.
The system is designed to improve:
- Grievance redressal
- Crime data analysis
- Predictive policing
- Faster investigations
- Automated report generation
- Real-time intelligent processing
PRITHVI Scheme of Ministry of Earth Sciences
The Ministry of Earth Sciences is implementing the PRITHVI (Prithvi Vigyan) Scheme from 2021–2026 with a total outlay of ₹4,797 crore to strengthen India’s weather, climate, ocean, cryosphere, and geoscience services. The key feature of the PRITHVI scheme is to address all the five components of earth system namely atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, cryosphere and biosphere to improve the understanding of the Earth System Sciences and to provide reliable services for the country.

Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) Expansion in Andhra Pradesh
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs, through Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED), has strengthened tribal livelihoods in Andhra Pradesh by sanctioning 488 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) under Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Vikas Mission (PMJVM) and PM-JANMAN schemes. The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has sanctioned a total of 488 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras (VDVKs) to Andhra Pradesh.
VDVKs are community-based tribal enterprises that promote:
- Minor Forest Produce (MFP) collection
- Value addition & processing
- Packaging & branding
- Direct market linkages
- Higher tribal income
