How In-Flight Internet Works?
In-Flight Internet Service has now become a standard feature on commercial aircraft. Connectivity is provided using two major backhaul systems Air-to-Ground (ATG) networks and satellite communication, including geostationary and low-Earth orbit satellites.
Inside the aircraft, Wi-Fi access points allow passengers to connect, while an onboard server routes data through ATG towers or satellites. Modern aircraft use certified systems and carefully allocated radio frequencies to avoid interference with aviation instruments. Low-Earth orbit satellites now offer reduced latency compared to older geostationary systems, improving passenger experience.
