Asian Seed Congress 2025
The Asian Seed Congress 2025 was inaugurated in Mumbai by Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan. During the event, the official logo of the Congress was unveiled. This year’s theme, “Sowing the Seeds of Prosperity through Quality Seeds”.
Exercise AJEYA WARRIOR-25
The eighth edition of the India–UK Joint Military Exercise “AJEYA WARRIOR-25” began in Rajasthan. This 14-day bilateral exercise is scheduled from 17 to 30 November 2025.
Sixteenth Finance Commission Submits Report
The Sixteenth Finance Commission (XVIFC) has officially submitted its report to the Hon’ble President of India. The Commission was formed under Article 280(1) of the Indian Constitution and is chaired by noted economist Dr. Arvind Panagariya. Other members of the XVIFC include Smt. Annie George Mathew, Dr. Manoj Panda, Shri T. Rabi Sankar, and Dr. Soumyakanti Ghosh, with Shri Ritvik Pandey serving as Secretary.
National Milk Day – 26 November
National Milk Day was observed on 26 November every year on the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, celebrated as the “Father of the White Revolution” in India.
National Gopal Ratna Awards 2025
The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has announced the winners of the National Gopal Ratna Awards (NGRA) 2025. The awardees mention below are important for APPSC exams.
Best Dairy farmer rearing indigenous cattle/buffalo breeds:
- 2nd place – Kankanala Krishna Reddy, Hyderabad, Telangana.
Best Artificial Insemination Technician (AIT):
- 3rd place – Anuradha Chakali, Nandyal, Andhra Pradesh.
India Signs First Major LPG Import Contract with the US
India has finalised its first ever structured LPG import agreement with the United States. The deal will allow Indian PSU oil companies to import around 2.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LPG from the US Gulf Coast for the contract year 2026. This volume equals nearly 10% of India’s annual LPG imports.
