CII Partnership Summit 2025
30th CII Partnership Summit was inaugurated by Vice President of India C.P. Radhakrsihnan. The summit’s theme is “Technology,Trust and Trade: Navigating the New Geoeconomic Order”. The summit hosted 45 sessions, 72 international speakers, and 2,500 delgates from 45 countries. Andhra Pradesh is hosting the summit for the fourth time.
Man-portable Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (MP-AUVs)
The Naval Science & Technological Laboratory (NSTL), Visakhapatnam under DRDO has successfully developed a new generation of Man-portable Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (MP-AUVs) designed for naval mine countermeasure operations.
India Becomes 6th Largest Patent Filer
Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh announced that India has emerged as the world’s 6th largest patent filer, recording over 64,000 patent filings, with more than 55% contributed by resident Indian innovators.
India’s First Model Sports Hub Initiative
The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), along with the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skills Council (SPEFL-SC) and the British Asian Trust (BAT), has launched “SportEdge Meerut”, a flagship initiative to develop Meerut as India’s model Sports Hub. The workshop brought together global institutions like ADB, World Bank, Microsoft, SBI Foundation, ONGC Foundation, and others to build a sports-led economic and entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Janjatiya Gaurav Divas – 14 November
India observes Janjatiya Gaurav Divas (Tribal Pride Day) every year on November 15, marking the birth anniversary of legendary tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda (born in 1874). To commemorate 150 years of his birth, the year 2024–25 is being celebrated as Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh.

Gujarat’s Ambaji Marble Gets GI Tag
Ambaji white marble, sourced from the holy town of Ambaji in Banaskantha district, Gujarat, has been granted the Geographical Indication (GI) tag. The GI tag has been issued in the name of the Ambaji Marbles Quarry and Factory Association. Known for its pure white colour, shine, durability, and high calcium content, the marble has been used in iconic religious structures in India and abroad.

Chirala – Andhra Pradesh’s ‘Mini Mumbai’
Chirala, located in the combined Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, is popularly called the ‘Mini Mumbai of A.P.’ owing to its flourishing textile and handloom trade, which has historically contributed to regional commerce and employment.
Originally known as Sudhanagaram, the town received this name from Goparaju Ramanna, a minister of Kakatiya king Ganapati Deva, around Saka 1145 AD. Chirala also holds historical significance for its role in India’s freedom movement, particularly during the Swadeshi movement and anti-tax struggles led by local leaders.
