Vice-President of India Presides Over 71st Annual General Body Meeting of IIPA

  • The Vice-President of India and President of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, presided over the 71st Annual General Body Meeting of IIPA in New Delhi.
  • During the event, he conferred the Paul H. Appleby Award 2025 to Mrs. Meenakshi Hooja (IAS Retd.) and the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Award 2025 to Prof. Prakash C. Sarangi for excellence in public administration and academics, respectively.
  • Note: The President of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) is the Vice President of India. This is an ex-officio position, meaning the role is held by virtue of holding the office of the Vice President.

International Arya Mahasammelan 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the International Arya Mahasammelan 2025 in New Delhi, marking the 150th anniversary of Arya Samaj and the 200th birth anniversary of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati.

The International Arya Summit 2025 programme forms a key part of the Jyana Jyoti Festival commemorating the 200th birth anniversary of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati and 150 years of Arya Samaj’s service to society.

Prime Minister visited Chhattisgarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Chhattisgarh on 1st November 2025 to participate in the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, marking 25 years of the state’s formation. During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for a series of development projects worth over ₹14,260 crore.

Highlights:

  • Inauguration of the new Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha building in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.
  • Inauguration of “Shanti Shikhar” — a new spiritual learning centre of the Brahma Kumaris.
  • Inauguration of the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial & Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, dedicated to tribal heroes of Chhattisgarh.
  • Launch of the Museum Portal and e-book “Aadi Shourya” to honor tribal freedom fighters.

Aadhaar Vision 2032

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has initiated a comprehensive technological and strategic review under the new ‘Aadhaar Vision 2032’ framework to shape the next decade of India’s digital identity ecosystem. UIDAI has constituted a high-level Expert Committee to guide technological and strategic roadmap chaired by Shri Neelkanth Mishra, Chairperson, UIDAI.

First Fully Digitised National Marine Fisheries Census 2025

  • The Union Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri George Kurian, officially launched the National Marine Fisheries Census (MFC) 2025 at the ICAR–Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI), Kochi.
  • This edition of the Marine Fisheries Census marks a historic milestone as it is the first fully digitised fisheries census in India, conducted under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).
  • The 45-day nationwide fisheries census, scheduled from November 3 to December 18, 2025, will cover 1.2 million fisher households across 4,000 marine fishing villages in nine coastal states and four union territories.
  • The census will be conducted using two specially developed mobile applications VyAS Bharat and VyAS Sutra created by CMFRI.

India Sets Three Guinness World Records under ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has achieved three Guinness World Records titles under the “Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan (SNSPA)” a nationwide campaign focusing on preventive and women-centric healthcare.
The three world records achieved are:

  1. Most people to register for a health care platform in one month – 3.21 crore (3,21,49,711)
  2. Most people to sign up for a breast cancer screening online in one week – 9.94 lakh (9,94,349)
  3. Most people to sign up for vital signs screening online in one week (at state level) – 1.25 lakh (1,25,406)

Andhra Pradesh Records Sharp Decline in MGNREGS Employment in FY 2025–26

  • Andhra Pradesh has witnessed a 13.6% decline in employment generation under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) during the first half of FY 2025–26 (April–September), according to a report by LibTech India.
  • The decline is widespread, with 23 out of 26 districts recording lower employment. NTR district reported the sharpest drop at 44.7%, followed by Chittoor at 31.3%, while only Nellore and Visakhapatnam saw marginal increases.
  • Despite a wage hike from ₹300 to ₹307 per day average household income under MGNREGS fell from ₹10,695 to ₹10,178 primarily due to fewer days of work.

San Maritime Signs MoU with Centre for ₹200-Crore Shipyard Project in Kakinada
